Whitney Houston Tribute

Sunday night marked an important event in the music biz with the 54th Annual Grammy Awards. The top singers and bands took to the stage in downtown Los Angeles to celebrate another year of great tunes, great talent, and great fun. However, the ceremony, as everyone knows at this point, was shadowed by the death of the monumental singer, Whitney Houston. Known for her massive range and impeccable vocals in such songs as “I Will Always Love You” and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”, Houston truly left her mark in the music business and in the hearts of fans across the world.
Houston’s death also had an important social media implication. According to many major news outlets, the news of her death was reported on Twitter approximately 27 minutes before any mainstream reporters picked up the story. Additionally, the day following her death, thousands of artists on YouTube started posting up videos of their own covers of her hit songs, racking up piles of views in just a few hours. After scouring YouTube, we managed to find some noteworthy, amazing renditions of her songs that definitely deserve some recognition.
