Clap along to “Ho Hey” with The Lumineers

There’s been a surge of folk and roots music lately. One folk band in particular caught my attention earlier this year: The Lumineers. The Lumineers are an American folk rock band from Denver, Colorado with three members: Wesley Schultz (guitar and lead vocals), Jeremiah Fraites (drums), and Neyla Pekarek (cello, mandolin, piano, vocals). The band’s soul stirring lyrics and roots music bring fans together. Their music is perfect for the summertime whether relaxing at the beach or chatting around a campfire. In any case, you’ll want to clap and sing along to their songs. I’m also drawn to their music because I like the string parts in their songs and how they connect with their fans. At one of their concerts, The Lumineers gave a four song encore and according to one fan’s blog post:
“On the second to last song in the encore the band all picked up their instruments, walked off the stage, into the center of the room and played a song acapella.”
That just shows how down to earth and thankful the band are for their incredible fans. The band’s self-titled debut album was released in April 2012 and reached #45 on the Billboard 200 chart. The Lumineers gained national attention when their song “Ho Hey” appeared on the comedy-drama television show, Hart of Dixie. In addition, this month, “Ho Hey” was used again in a commercial for the search engine, Bing. The popularity of “Ho Hey” and the band have continued to grow with several sold out shows. To top it off, The Lumineers have an upcoming show in October at the Austin City Limits Music Festival which is sure to draw in large crowds. Check out The Lumineers and clap and sing along to the catchy song, “Ho Hey”.
Ho, Hey, how about a Bing Commercial too:
